Earnest Tate, the first African-American chief of police in Selma, AL has always been very strong and independent, a pillar in his community. His family was extremely concerned as he began to rapidly deteriorate right before their eyes. Surrounded by a team of specialists who detected his severe aortic stenosis and recognized the urgency, Chief Tate got the TAVR procedure he needed just in time.
